Connor Downs Academy, formally Connor Downs Primary School, approached us three months before their conversion to develop the identity of the school. They wanted to keep the heritage of the school within the new branding whilst making it feel modern and smart to match their teaching style.
We conducted an Agile Brand Day with a number of Connor Downs Academy’s key influencers; this included a parent, governors and the leadership team. The session produced a mood board, a new logo and a brand guidelines document to allow the school to match the branding when making design decisions in the future. Following the Agile Brand Day, we developed a number of branded stationary designs, signage and even produced a new prospectus, copy and design, for the academy. We also wrote and distributed press releases full of positive content in the lead up to and after the conversion.
Connor Downs Academy is now an academy that is very much a part of the wider community. The majority of parents have stated that they highly approve of the new branding and particularly like that it has incorporated the lighthouse from the old design. The press release made the surrounding community aware of the changes to the academy and this September the school welcomed 28 children.
