I love wearing my tweedy suit jacket, TPS (Toby Parkins’ Shirt) and my ‘look at my ******* red trousers’ as much as the next man.

But come summertime, and hopefully some sunshine, the thought of wearing suit-based attire fills me with dread.

Sat in stuffy offices or sweltering networking venues I can start to feel the pressure build: ‘Don’t sweat, don’t sweat’ becomes my mantra.

But invariably beads of sweat appear, causing more panic, and more sweat.
I’ve even had to make my excuses at networking events in the past to go outside and cool down.

Luckily, I have managed to keep a ‘Tony Blair moment’ from bay, but only just.

I’ve even kept an iced bottle of water or a cold, wet flannel with me to place on my wrists or neck, as a way to counteract the heat.

But you know what, I’ve had enough!

So, we’re launching our #NoSuitSummer campaign at MPAD.

    Simon

As you may have noticed, we don’t tend to do ‘suits’ at MPAD towers, and each member of the team has their own style.

Dressing smart for the right occasion is important and the team dress to impress whenever necessary.

I remember a piece of advice I was given by an established businessman when I started the company back in 1999 was to ‘always wear a suit’. That didn’t sit well with me back then, especially considering I was doing work with a surf company and had to go to the beach occasionally to meet them.

And it doesn’t sit well with me now some 16 years on. I don’t think that wearing a suit and tie, or power dress with massive shoulder pads, has a difference on the work we do at MPAD. It’s about the talent inside that counts.

I want to feel comfort in meetings and networking events, knowing that my focus is on our clients or what is happening, without worrying about turning into a sweaty mess.

That is why we’re having a #NoSuitSummer, so join us now!*

We want you to share your #NoSuitSummer pictures on , and LinkedIn.

    * Disclaimer: if the weather is a bit pants and there is a really, really important pitch or meeting, then a suit may be necessary.
