We will be running a second series of our popular Social Enterprise Collaboration Club workshops with Partner 2 Succeed this month.
The sessions are free to attend if you are a Social Enterprise (or plan to become one) and are based in Cornwall. These all day sessions are being held in Truro on Thursday 16th February and Wednesday 22nd February and will cover the following topics:
Our December workshops were very popular so if you’d like to book a place, email sam@mpad.co.uk as soon as you can.
Truro based PR and marketing agency MPAD will be hosting a free seminar sharing its expertise with charities.
The seminar will discuss how charities can boost their profile and will run from 9am – 1pm on Tuesday, February 7 at YTKO in Truro.
Aimed at charities of all sizes, the session will cover both short and long term approaches for generating awareness.
Rachel Picken, MPAD director, said: “The agenda is themed around challenging the perception that effective marketing revolves around big budgets.
“It is becoming increasingly difficult for charities to get the recognition they deserve.
“By offering our expertise, we aim to ensure that charities spend those carefully earned pennies in the right places to help them reap the rewards.”
MPAD works with a number of Cornwall’s leading charity brands including Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust, Age UK in Cornwall & Isles of Scilly and BF Adventure.
The agency is also currently working with more than 10 charities to run a dedicated Cornwall Legacy Awareness Week in April this year.
MPAD’s marketing expert, Sam White, said: “We’re keen to continue our work with good causes throughout Cornwall.
“I firmly believe that the event will be a springboard into a fruitful summer for all those who attend.”
The event aims to educate up to 15 charity representatives from all sizes of organisations.
Sam added: “We urge charities to book quickly as places are very limited”.
Set up in 1999, MPAD has experienced continued growth and is now a seven-strong team of experts in marketing, public relations, advertising and design.
To register for the seminar, please call MPAD on 01872 321 533 or email sam@mpad.co.uk
Two Truro businesses have joined forces to deliver the official guide to the city.
Cathedral Lane-based marketing agency MPAD and Fal River Cornwall, the destination marketing partnership, last week won the tender to deliver Truro City Council’s official tourism guide.
The partnership was selected by the council for its strong editorial offering, graphic design, advertising sales expertise and distribution services.
The team is now working to secure advertising sales to design and distribute up to 40,000 copies of the guide throughout Cornwall.
Fal River Cornwall has provided a dedicated sales consultant, Emily Caulfield, to work with local partners and advertisers.
Roger Gazzard, town clerk for Truro City Council, said: “We were keen to use a local company and were impressed with the quality of work offered by MPAD and Fal River Cornwall.
“They have an impressive background of designing and delivering tourism guides and are particularly passionate about showcasing the best our city has to offer.”
MPAD will be responsible for editorial content, commissioning photography, graphic design and project management of the guide.
Rachel Picken, director of MPAD, said: “Having grown up in Truro, and to now be running a business here, I really want to highlight the city’s best bits, as seen by local people.
“We have a long-standing relationship with Fal River Cornwall and they were natural partners for us to collaborate with.”
Toby Budd, marketing manager for Fal River Cornwall, added: “It’s a brilliant partnership, we’re really excited about bringing all our experience to the table, producing the definitive guide to Truro that’s great for locals as well as visitors.”
To make the new guide as definitive as possible, the team is looking to list as many Truro businesses as possible. Advertising starts from £45 for a listing to ensure its affordable for businesses of all sizes to be included.
Emily Caulfield added: “We wanted our starting price to be under £50 so that it is accessible to all businesses in Truro, from market stalls to large retailers. We’re getting a great response and look forward to working with Truro traders to produce a guide that brings us all more business.’’

The MPAD crew with friends from Event Cornwall and Totally Truro went out for a few drinks to thank Rachel’s maternity cover, Suzie Smith, for all her hard work over the last three months.
Despite finishing full-time to start her PGCE course today (6th September) Suzie will still be working for MPAD on a part-time basis through to the end of October.
