A cake sale organised by a group of independent financial advisers as part of an ongoing fundraising campaign has raised over £100.
The Women of Worldwide (WoW) team was set up by Worldwide Financial Planning’s Donna Hansen, Rebecca Bendle, Lynne Williams and Deborah Hale.
Launched in April 2012 the team is hosting a series of events to raise money for Cornwall Hospice Care (CHC).
In the latest event Becky Bendle and her mum, Lynne Hick, kindly organised a cake and refreshment sale at Threemilestone Community Centre, where £102 was raised.
Donna Hansen, whose late mother was looked after by CHC at St Julia’s Hospice in Hayle, said: “We had a great day in Threemilestone and some incredible support.
“There was a lot of cake and tea sold and we’re really pleased with the response we’ve had from friends, family, colleagues, clients and associates to the campaign.
“Our particular thanks go to Karen Hamilton and Sue Jenkins, whose cakes went down a treat!”
The team is now planning the Sunshine Ball, which is due to take place at the Penventon Park Hotel on Friday, June 21.
Tickets are available now at £32.50 per head to include a welcome Bellini, three-course meal, live entertainment, an auction and luxury raffle.
