    Truro and Penwith College line up to support festival again

    Organisers of one of Cornwall’s leading festivals have unveiled details of this year’s headline sponsor.


    The Fal River Festival, which runs from Friday, May 24 until Sunday, June 2, will be sponsored for the second year running by Truro and Penwith College.

    Celebrating life in and around the Fal River the 10-day event will be branded as the Truro and Penwith College Fal River Festival.

    Jean Mooney, Truro and Penwith College’s marketing and publicity officer, said: “We’re pleased to be part of the Fal River Festival supporting businesses and the local community once again.

    “Everyone had a fantastic time being involved last year.

    “It’s also a great opportunity for our students to be involved and for a large number of people to find out about what a great institution Truro and Penwith College is and what it has to offer.”

    Students have already lined up two events during the festival with a ban showcase in the marquee on Events Square on Friday, May 24, and an art trail that will run over the 10 days.

    Festival director, Dot Peryer, said: “We’re very excited that Truro and Penwith College have agreed to sponsor the festival again.

    “There was a great relationship last year and I’m looking forward to building on that to create and enjoyable and successful event for all involved.”

    Established in 2006, this year’s Festival ( will encompass over 150 events and will offer a diverse mix of culture, music, arts, food, literature, drama, industry, events, gardens, sports and history.

    Organisers have also announced details of the festival’s day sponsors: A & P, Falmouth University, Helpful Holidays, Classic Sailing, Skinners Brewery and MPAD.
