The new Truro City Guide is out now and is packed with 84 pages of things to do, places to eat and places to stay in and around the city.

L-R Abi Steel (Truro TIC), Toby Budd (Fal River), Wilamena Dyer (Artists daughter), Nigel Barker (MPAD), Tiffany Bailey (Fal River), Joanne Short (Artist), Richard Owen, John Tamblyn (Deputy Mayor of Truro), Lindsay Southcombe (Mayor of Truro)
This is the second year that the handy A5 format has been produced by the partnership between marketing company MPAD and Fal River Cornwall with support from Totally Truro on behalf of Truro City Council.
Abi Steel from the Truro Tourist Information Centre said; “We are delighted that this years guide has come out in time for half-term.
“It really showcases Truro to both visitor and residents alike, and the cover is just beautiful.”
The painting for the front cover was commissioned from local artist Joanne Short who said; “Truro is a really vibrant city with beautiful architecture, outstanding natural scenery and a wonderful atmosphere.
“It was a challenge to capture that in one single image but I am really pleased with the final picture and delighted that people like it.”
The Truro City Guide will be distributed throughout Cornwall and the wider South West with the aim of attracting people to the city for short breaks.
Abi said; “We are seeing an increasing number of visitors through our doors at the Tourist Information Centre and almost everyone comments on how beautiful Truro is.
“Cornwall is so much more than beaches and seaside towns. Short breaks are increasingly popular and recent summers haven’t delivered the greatest weather.
“Who wants to sit on a beach in the rain?
“A small city like Truro provides a great base for a break with plenty to do for the family in the centre and superb transport links to the wider county.”
Toby Budd, marketing manager for Fal River Cornwall said; “Last years guide was so successful we managed to increase production to 60,000 for this year which is great news for businesses and Truro as a city.
“We would like to thank all of the businesses who have supported it through advertising and sponsorships because without them the guide wouldn’t happen.”
The Truro City Guide is available from the Truro Tourist Information Centre and other outlets throughout Cornwall and the South West. To request a copy call the centre on 01872 274555.
