Cornish charity ShelterBox has praised MPAD for stepping in and providing media relations support for eight weeks.
The Helston based organisation, that responds to humanitarian crises globally, approached MPAD at the end of October whilst a new press officer was appointed.
Tim Bunting, ShelterBox UK’s fundraising general manager, said: “MPAD stepped in to provide interim support and were able to hit the ground running.
“The end of 2012 was an incredibly busy time for us at the charity with Typhoon Bhopa displacing tens of thousands of people in the Philippines, our continued work helping Syrian Refugees in Northern Iraq, Jordan and Turkey, and closer to home responding to the floods in Cornwall just before Christmas.
“MPAD were able to keep pace with our deployments and secured excellent media coverage and interest both locally and nationally including CNN, Channel 4 News and Radio 5 Live.”
MPAD’s managing director, Mark Picken, said: “We’ve thoroughly enjoyed working alongside ShelterBox.
“It’s been an incredibly busy, fast paced and exciting two months.
“We had to gather information, verify it and turn it around instantly in order to keep up with the news agenda, especially when the floods hit Cornwall.
“I’ll always remember turning our dining room table into a press office on Christmas Day and Boxing Day to support the organisation and help get the important message of its work out.”
ShelterBox has now appointed Mark Nicholson to head up its communications. MPAD would like to wish Mark every success in his new role and hope to be able to work with him in the future.
