Robin Cousins Visits Ice Skate Truro

Wednesday November 14 saw ice dance legend Robin Cousins MBE visit Ice Skate Truro.

MPAD are providing PR, social media and marketing support to the project and we kept him suitably busy all day.

A series of broadcast media interviews with BBC Radio Cornwall, Spotlight and Heart were set-up in advance.  Robin also visited Richard Lander School where he met pupils and chatted about ice skating, dancing on ice and of course being an Olympic Gold Medalist.

The social media campaign is building really fast and we have now topped 1,ooo ‘Likes’ on Facebook.  Part of the strategy was to engage the ‘Likers’ in a ‘meet and greet’ session with Robin at the site of Ice Skate Truro.  He chatted freely and signed autographs.

Robin also brought along his most treasured possession, his Olympic Gold Medal, which has it’s own unique tale.  Did you know that the 1980 Winter Olympic Medals were made by Tiffany’s in New York.
