Way back in time when he still had some hair, mpad’s managing director, Mark Picken, went to Falmouth College of Arts to study advertising.
Specialising as a copywriter, Mark and his art director partner even had the honour of being banned for entering a student award competition because their advert for Gala Bingo was deemed ‘too rude’.
Anyway, Mark has put all that behind him and uses his smoking keyboard copywriting skills to good use to create fantastically creative words to sell products and services. And when combined with mpad’s designer Matt Hollands’ killer visuals the dynamic duo know how to use a budget to put products and services well and truly on the map.

Totally Truro Christmas 2008 advertising campaign
mpad has been working with Totally Truro since June 2008 to promote the city’s Business Improvement District (BID).
As well as designing PR campaigns to promote the city’s events, such as the Music Truro Festival, mpad also designed and created the city’s new EnjoyTruro website.
Christmas in Truro is one of the biggest events on the calendar, with a spectacular Christmas lights display, entertainment and late night shopping.

As part of our ongoing work with Totally Truro, we executed an advertising campaign to a specific budget, negotiating with radio, newspapers and magazines to get the best deal and exposure for this fantastic event.
We also worked closely with Totally Truro’s designer Graeme and Rust to create eye catching print adverts. We are now designing a comprehensive marketing strategy for Totally Truro to execute throughout 2009.

Alverton Manor: “Local food from down the road”
The Alverton Manor in Truro prides itself on its excellent food, using the best quality ingredients, many of which come from the hotel’s back garden!
Working with images by Cornwall’s established food photographer David Griffen, mpad created advertising artwork to promote the Alverton’s rustic charm, superb menu and revamped restaurant.
