Cornwall-based communications agency MPAD is announcing a change in directorship.

Rachel Picken has resigned as managing director to pursue her own consultancy and teaching business Agile PR, through which she teaches Chartered Institute of PR qualifications.

Mark Picken, who established MPAD in 1999, will continue to lead the business, as it prepares to move to new office premises at Old Bakery Studios in Truro.

The move follows Mark and Rachel’s marital separation at the end of last year.

Rachel said: “We have taken some time to consider the best path forward for both ourselves and the business. I have some interesting and exciting opportunities with my teaching work, which takes me regularly to Manchester. It made sense for me to exit MPAD and allow Mark to continue to build the business he set up 17 years ago.

“Our decision is very amicable and we continue to be supportive of each other. I’m very proud of what we have achieved as an agency: the staff we have developed, clients we have worked with and projects we have delivered.”

Rachel will continue to work with MPAD as a freelance Account Director, supporting her existing clients and new strategy projects.

Mark said: “We are now getting ready to move to a new creative studio at Old Bakery Studios. It will be a fresh start, with some new faces, collaborations and ways of working. Watch this space.”
